Matumizi mabaya ya mali ya umma ni kikwazo kikubwa kwa maendeleo ya nchi,” alisema kwa masikitiko, akisisitiza haja ya viongozi kuwajibika kwa wananchi wanaowahudumia.Askofu huyo alisema gharama ya maisha imepanda kwa kiwango kisichovumilika, hali inayowafanya raia wengi kushindwa kumudu mahitaji ya kila siku.“Uchumi wa taifa hauvutii. Bei ya bidhaa muhimu imepanda kwa kiwango kikubwa,” aliongeza.Katika hotuba hiyo, Askofu Kivuva pia alizungumzia suala la mshikamano wa kitaifa, akiwasihi Wakenya kudumisha amani na kuepuka migawanyiko ya kisiasa na kidini. Alisema taifa linahitaji maombi, mshikamano, na uongozi wa kutanguliza ustawi wa raia.“Ingawa Kenya ina dini mbalimbali, hatupaswi kugawanyika. Sisi ni jamii moja na wote tunamwamini Mungu. Tujiepushe na kubaguana,” alisema.Aliwataka vijana kutokubali kutumiwa kuzua vurugu, akiwakumbusha kuwa wao ndio mustakabali wa taifa.“Tunaombea nchi yenye upendo. Vijana waepuke kutumiwa kuharibu taifa. Tujitahidi kudumisha amani na utulivu,” alisema.Katika ujumbe wake wa Pasaka, Rais William Ruto pia aliwahimiza Wakenya kudumisha umoja, amani na mshikamano wa kitaifa, akisema msimu huu wa kiroho ni fursa ya kutafakari upendo wa Kristo na kuchukua hatua za kujenga taifa lenye utu.Katika jiji la Kisumu, Padri Fredrick Odhiambo alihimiza Wakenya kudumisha amani, upendo na msamaha, akisisitiza umuhimu wa familia kujenga umoja wa kweli. “Familia zipatane. Tuishi kwa amani. Tusijenge wivu. Tusimame dhidi ya giza na mgawanyiko,” alisema Padri Odhiambo.Katika Kaunti ya Siaya, Apostle Elijah Onyango wa Jesus Shalom Ministries aliwataka wananchi kumrudia Mungu kwa sala na tafakari.“Muda huu wa Ijumaa Kuu ni wa kutafakari na kujitathmini. Suluhisho la matatizo yetu lipo kwa Mungu,” alisema.Askofu wa Dayosisi ya Kanisa Katoliki ya Eldoret, Dominic Kimengich, alisema ushuru wa juu, umasikini, ukandamizaji na tamaa ya pesa ndivyo vinavyowasukuma watu wengi kuingia kwenye biashara haramu ya viungo vya binadamu.“Tamaa ya fedha inaharibu nchi yetu, na huo sio mwelekeo tunaopaswa kuchukua. Tunaomba viongozi wa kisiasa waheshimiane na wawe waangalifu na lugha wanayotumia katika majukwaa ya umma,” alisema Askofu Tarus.
