Maintenance on Sæfari ferry taking time
Sailings of the Sæfari ferry between the island of Grímsey and Dalvík are expected to resume no later than 9 March.The vessel entered dry dock for routine maintenance on 19 January and a statement from Akureyrarbær (Municipality of Akureyri) says it has proved more time-consuming than anticipated.There will be no sailings between Dalvík and Grímsey while the maintenance is under way and travellers are therefore asked to use flights in the meantime.Flights operate according to schedule three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
