Impact of ongoing airstrikes • Since 24 April 2026, the security environment in Lebanon has remained highly unstable, with a fragile ceasefire failing to halt hostilities. • Continued hostilities in southern Lebanon, including airstrikes, shelling, and demolitions, are resulting in civilian casualties, repeated displacement, and damage to critical infrastructure, with renewed displacement orders further affecting civilians. • The situation is compounded by restricted access to affected areas and increasing strain on essential services, including health systems. • Humanitarian needs are rising rapidly, with food insecurity and service disruptions expanding beyond directly affected zones. • Without sustained de-escalation, the situation is likely to deteriorate further, underscoring the urgent need for increased humanitarian and health sector support. • Total reported hostilities have reached 10,522 incidents since 2 March 2026, including 2,351 incidents recorded after the ceasefire on 17 April 2026 (274 in the past 24 hours), representing a 61% increase since 24 April 2026.
