Tanzania Signs Nine PPP Contracts for DART, Ports and TAZARA Railway

Tanzania has signed nine public-private partnership (PPP) contracts as of June 2026 as it uses the model to accelerate major strategic projects, improve public services and attract investment. The contracts cover the Dar es Salaam Rapid Transit (DART) system, mandatory motor vehicle inspection, the Kariakoo commercial building, the TAZARA railway and the operation of the Dar es Salaam Port through DP World and ADAN.
