MANILA, Philippines — The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) will launch a website to counter the proliferation of fake news, Malacañang said Friday. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro issued the statement following the "sudden and coordinated surge" in disinfomation against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., particularly concerning his well-being. "We invite you because the PCO is working on a website or platform where you can report fake news that are spreading online, and we will not ignore it, each case will be acted upon, and those responsible will face charges," Castro said during a press briefing. "We all know the fake news that’s been circulating, almost all of it is against the president and this administration. They say the government is doing nothing, especially about the crisis in the Middle East, that is all lies," she added.
