Country: Indonesia Source: European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations On 7 April, a landslide occurred in Sibolangit district, Deli Serdang regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, triggered by prolonged heavy rainfall and resulting in fatalities, damage, traffic and service disruptions. Media, as of 8 April, reports of five people killed and three people injured, as the landslide submerged and damaged eight houses. Traffic on the Medan-Berastagi road was disrupted, while power supply was cut as well for the Sibolangit district. Authorities sealed off the place of incident as they assessed the risk of further landslides in the area. Over the next 48 hours, additional light rain is forecast for Deli Serdang regency.
