Vanuatu Dengue Outbreak Situation Report #9 (South-West Efate, Shefa Province)

Key highlights: Nine new laboratory-confirmed dengue cases were reported in EW32, bringing the cumulative total to 76 confirmed cases. Weekly case counts have remained above the outbreak threshold since EW24, indicating ongoing community transmission. A total of 12 dengue-related hospitalisations (16%) have been reported; all patients have recovered and been discharged. No severe dengue cases or dengue-related deaths have been reported to date. DENV-1 remains the confirmed circulating serotype. Cases continue to be reported across multiple Area Councils on Efate, with the highest proportions in Erakor, Pango, Eratap, and Port Vila.
