¿Frenazo de Vox?
Las expectativas con las que acudía Vox a las elecciones del pasado domingo en Castilla y León quedaron lejos de cumplirse. Algunos sondeos pronosticaban que el partido de Santiago Abascal traspasaría la barrera del 20% de apoyo popular y ganaría un número significativo de escaños. Tras los buenos resultados obtenidos en Extremadura y Aragón, Vox quería reafirmar esa tendencia al alza, pero se ha quedado a medio camino. Los resultados no son malos. Todo lo contrario, el partido los mejora y aumenta en un escaño su representación en el Parlamento castellanoleonés. Pero hay motivos para interpretarlos como un frenazo no previsto y trasladar esa sensación al conjunto de la política nacional. Sobre todo, porque ese débil crecimiento se produce al mismo tiempo que se refuerzan las dos grandes fuerzas del bipartidismo. El PP, tras cuatro décadas en el poder, demuestra que es capaz de aumentar sus escaños en un momento especialmente difícil. Algo similar le ocurre al PSOE, que en una situación de desgaste extremo en el ámbito estatal ha logrado incrementar su respaldo. El papel que haya jugado en ello la presencia de un candidato con arraigo en la región y alejado de la esfera de control de Pedro Sánchez es una incógnita que debe ser considerada. Lo que sí ha quedado claro en el ciclo de elecciones autonómicas es que Vox es una parte sustancial de la mayoría social de derechas que se ha manifestado en todas las consultas realizadas. De nada han servido los intentos de marginarlo o de crear artificiales cordones sanitarios. El PP está obligado a contar con esa realidad y a configurar en base a ella sus políticas de pactos. Esta situación viene determinada porque en la España actual es impensable plantear acuerdos entre los dos grandes partidos que llevan más de cuatro décadas sustentando los cimientos del sistema democrático. Mientras esta situación persista, y no parece que vaya a ocurrir lo contrario, Vox será una fuerza decisiva, aunque sufra algún que otro frenazo.
