Country: Sao Tome and Principe Source: World Food Programme Please refer to the attached file. KEY HIGHLIGHTS • Commissioning began across 14 schools in Sao Tome that received solar panels and kitchen equipment, including electric pressure cookers and refrigerators. • In May, partners and WFP leadership visited program areas, including Principe Island, to support the Green Infrastructure for Education Project handover and assess the impact of current interventions and future needs. • WFP, as the Accredited Entity for the Green Climate Fund Project Preparation Facility, led high-level consultations with the Government and stakeholders. • Sao Tome and Principe will organize the Presidential and legislative elections in July and September respectively. Campaigns for the Presidential elections started in June which resulted in reduced field activities.
