Se busca al hijo con autismo de la cineasta palmera Mercedes Afonso
Se cree que el joven, con un diagnóstico de altas capacidades, cogió una guagua entre las 16.00 y las 17.00 horas de este lunes con destino a Santa Cruz de La Palma Airam se encuentra desaparecido desde la tarde de este lunes. Airam, el hijo con autismo de la cineasta palmera Mercedes Afonso, ha desaparecido en la tarde de este lunes. En sus redes sociales y en declaraciones a este periódico, Afonso expresa su agradecimiento “por todo el apoyo y difusión que se está dando a la desaparición de Airam. Me gustaría explicar que mi hijo es autista, de Altas Capacidades”, dice, y añade que “creemos que ayer sufrió un colapso de autismo, y hoy puede estar en un estado alterado de conciencia”. “Puede estar desorientado, tener miedo, y estar muy desconfiado si se le llama por su nombre, puede tener dificultades para comunicarse y procesar información. Se debe ir despacio, sin brusquedad, ni acercarse de repente”, advierte Mercedes Afonso. “Creemos eque cogió una guagua entre las 16:00 y 17:00 horas de ayer con destino Santa Cruz de La Palma, pero que quizás se bajó en alguna para anterior, y tenía intenciones de ir al aeropuerto. A él no le gustan las aglomeraciones de personas”, subraya su madre. “Mi última comunicación con él fue sobre las 18:00 horas y no sabía dónde estaba, y después se apagó su móvil”, señala. “Si le ven, por favor, pueden contactarnos, o si le vieron ayer en algún sitio, para intentar tener más clara su ruta”, ruega. Precisamente, la película El mapa para tocarte (2026), dirigida por Mercedes Afonso y producida por Lunática Producciones Audiovisuales, en coproducción con Bocacha Films (Uruguay), competirá en la Sección Oficial de Documentales Largometrajes de la 29o edición del Festival de Málaga. El film propone un acercamiento íntimo a la experiencia de la maternidad atravesada por la enfermedad, a partir de doce años de registro audiovisual de la vida de Airam, su hijo, diagnosticado con TEA (Trastorno del Espectro Autista) y PANDAS (Trastornos Neuropsiquiátricos Autoinmunes Pediátricos Asociados a Estreptococo). La película convierte el gesto de filmar en una herramienta de supervivencia emocional y en un acto de amor. En diálogo constante con el paisaje de la isla de La Palma -territorio volcánico y cambiante-, el relato traza un paralelismo entre los brotes imprevisibles de la enfermedad de su hijo y la fuerza latente de la naturaleza. “En las crisis, comencé a grabar a mi hijo, para que me creyeran, y para mostrarle a los médicos cómo estaba y cómo iba evolucionando. Cuando cogí el móvil en aquellos momentos, me di cuenta, que hacía un efecto de filtro, por mi mirada como cineasta, y ese filtro, atenuaba el dolor momentáneamente. Cuando mejoró, después de la época más dura, pensé que si contábamos nuestra historia, podíamos ayudar a otras familias y se lo propuse a mi hijo. El tenía en ese momento 13 años, mi sorpresa fue, que él me dijo que sí, un sí rotundo. Ahí nació la idea de esta película”, cuenta Marcedes Afosno.
