HUNTINGTON -- A ball escaped from the Ripley bullpen and rolled into right field during the first inning of St. Albans' 11-3 victory Saturday. That's the only act the fourth-seeded Vikings could muster to temporarily slow down the No. 2 Red Dragons in the Class AAA high school baseball Class AAA state championship game at Marshall University's Jack Cook Field. St. Albans (32-5) sent 14 batters to the plate in the 43-minute first inning and scored eight runs to erase a 1-0 deficit on their way to their first state title since 2019. 2026-06-14 02:00:00
