It was around 6 pm on Thursday, 12 February, when we boarded a dinghy bound for Bosset village in the Middle Fly District of Western Province. Powered by a 40HP outboard motor, we were facing an 18- to 19-hour journey down the mighty Fly River.Darkness fell before we reached Kawok Village and the D’Albertis Junction, known to local travelers as the mouth of the Alice River.
