Cameroon to Host International Cocoa Initiative Board for First Time

Cameroon will host the Board of Directors of the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) for the first time from November 2 to 5, 2026. The meeting comes as the organization expands its presence in the country and engages authorities on producer livelihoods, working conditions and child protection in cocoa-growing communities. The upcoming meeting was announced following a September 22 audience granted by Trade Minister Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana to ICI West and Central Africa Director Euphrasie Aka, according to information published by the Ministry of Trade. ICI holds its board meeting in a cocoa-producing country every two years. The foundation has requested that the upcoming session in Cameroon be held under the authority of the trade minister, a request Mbarga Atangana accepted, the ministry said. The meeting comes less than a year after ICI established operations in Cameroon.
