Executive Summary The Socio-Economic Survey on Refugees in Jordan (referred to as the VAF survey1 ) is an initiative led by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, in collaboration with the World Bank and World Food Programme. Conducted every two years, the survey enables tracking of changes in refugees’ living situation over time. The last data collection was undertaken in 2023, and referred to as the 2024 VAF. This is the seventh iteration of the VAF survey for refugees living in host communities, and the third iteration for refugees living in camps. This iteration combines the assessment of refugees residing in both host communities and refugee camps into one report, allowing for a comprehensive country-wide comparison of and across all refugees registered with UNHCR in Jordan (‘registered refugees’). For the 2026 VAF survey, 3,920 refugee households residing in host communities and 985 refugee households residing in Azraq and Zaatari refugee camps were randomly sampled to provide a comprehensive, representative and multisectoral overview of refugees’ living conditions and the protection of their rights within Jordan.
