Update on Kiunga airport runway works

The National Airports Corporation (NAC) has advised that the Kiunga Airport upgrade works under its Method of Works Plan (MOWP) have been rescheduled to commence in March 2026. The adjustment allows sufficient time for material sourcing and ensures minimal disruption to travel for students and residents returning for work and studies.As a result, Air Niugini flights to and from Kiunga will continue to operate as per the normal schedule—every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
