The leaders “expressed their condemnation of the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilians and civilian sites and facilities in the United Arab Emirates, describing them as a violation of the country’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability, ” said WAM. The leaders “affirmed their countries’ solidarity with the UAE and their support for all measures it takes to safeguard its security and stability and ensure the safety of its citizens,” it added. The calls came from Jordan’s King Abdullah; Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, and Masrour Barzani, the prime minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, added WAM. The United Arab Emirates’ defence ministry said on Tuesday that its air defences dealt with missile and drone attacks from Iran, although Iran’s joint military command claimed its armed forces had not carried out any missile or drone operations against the UAE in recent days. But a spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters warned of a “crushing response”‌ if any action was launched from the UAE against Iran. Other officials in Tehran have confirmed Iranian attacks reflecting an intent to target the UAE under the cloak of implausible deniability as well as the multiplicity of decision making centres in Iran.
